About K E Meuir

Author

My Story

K E Meuir grew up in the deserts of Tucson, Arizona with two sisters and three brothers.  Her father, Ernest FitzGerald, was one of the most influential people in her life.  As a chef and a lifelong gardener, he inspired her love of digging in the dirt and the joy that comes from preparing good food for those you love.  Her mother, Josephine Baker, instilled in her a love of reading that has lasted a lifetime.  Evenings spent listening to her mother read A. A. Milne and his beloved Winnie the Pooh left its mark.

Ms. Meuir traded the deserts of Arizona for Nevada where she attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas earning degrees in education.  Teaching became her passion and her classroom opened the door to discovery for many students.  Ms. Meuir was active in the Southern Nevada Writing Project, a mentor to young teachers, and a representative in the Nevada Teacher’s Association.  She retired from teaching and moved to a small farm on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington where she raised chickens, rode her beloved mare, Rosie, and learned to garden in a world with abundant rainfall.

Life is full of surprises, and the best was yet to come.  In a turn of events never imagined, Ms. Meuir met the love of her life, Mark.  Together they began a new life on a small ranch in the Texas Hill Country where she still raises chickens and has added bees for good measure.

Ms. Meuir and her late husband raised four wonderful children along the way.  The Mountain Fog is her first novel.
